Coming soon

This is just a quick update to say that on the 1st September I will be having a massive sale on all current yarns in my shop. This is to make space for some new yarns coming in October. I will also be opening a competition, which I’ll post more about on the day. In the middle of September, I will be opening orders for my popular yarn advent calendar. It will be a little different this year, in that there… Read More »Coming soon

January Competition Winner

Using the wonderful random.org I’ve drawn the January competition winner to design your own colourway. The winner is… Evie, who contacted me via email: “Picture this countryside scene. Big round bales of golden yellow straw in a field, green hedgerows line the field and a cloudy grey sky above it….. Maybe with a wee bit of blue peeking through here and there. I’ve yet to see a yarn reflecting this scene, and I think it would be beautiful.” Congratulations Evie!… Read More »January Competition Winner

Valentines box, and an Anti-Valentines box

A New Box From the Monday 16th January you’ll be able to order both the Valentines and the Anti-Valentines boxes. I wanted to create the Anti-Valentines box because I know some people just hate all the pink and fluffy stuff so I want them to be able to have something for themselves too. They will be available to pre-order in my shop, and are limited in number. They will be available until Thursday 9th February unless I sell out first. Valentines… Read More »Valentines box, and an Anti-Valentines box

Lots of new yarn, and a new competition

New Yarn Today I’ve posted lots of new yarn to the shop. Take a look here. Most of the yarns are a blend of BFL and Masham, with a few skeins of Falkland Merino. They are of course lovingly hand dyed, and have not been superwash treated. A Monthly Competition Lots of people have ideas on how they would like a yarn to look. As dyeing is a rather involved process, many of these people never get to turn their ideas… Read More »Lots of new yarn, and a new competition

2017

Looking Back, Looking Forward This year has been very successful for Bluebell Yarns. The advent calendar especially proved highly popular and sold out weeks before the pre-order cut off date. I plan to build on this success throughout 2017 and create lots of lovely new yarns and gifts for you to enjoy. On the 2nd January at 10am lots of new yarns will be available from my Etsy shop. They will all be British and non-superwash. As a first for Bluebell Yarns,… Read More »2017

Finally Open

Bluebell Yarns is finally open. After a bit of a delay, you can now buy yarn from my Etsy shop here. As well as the normal yarn, I’m working on a bit of a surprise that will be revealed over the next few days. Watch this space!

The Beginning of Bluebell Yarns

For the last few weeks I have been dyeing, skeining and generally playing with yarn. All that is because on the 24th August 2015, Bluebell Yarns is opening. I have been knitting for several  years now, and I’ve been trying to buy British yarn for a good portion of that. A few months ago I found out how superwash yarn is treated. I decided I didn’t like that, so then tried to buy yarn that hadn’t been treated, as well as… Read More »The Beginning of Bluebell Yarns
