British Yarn Expedition

The British Yarn Expedition is now finished

What is the British Yarn Expedition?

The British Yarn Expedition is a monthly yarn subscription that explores the wonders of single breed British yarn. Each month will see both undyed and dyed single breed British yarn, usually from an individual farm, delivered to your door. This could be from a well known breed such as the Bluefaced Leicester or something more rare, such as Romney. Subscribers will also receive information sheets about the breed and yarn, with suggestions on what the yarn is suited for, as well as information about the farm itself. Most of the yarn included in the expedition will be sheep’s wool, but very occasionally may include fibres such as alpaca and mohair from other British farms.

The Subscription

There are three sizes of British Yarn Expedition subscription available:

Sampler (20g yarn) – £12 per month, including UK postage

This subscription will contain at least 10g undyed and 10g dyed yarn as well as information sheets. This is ideal for people who want to sample British Yarn without having to dedicate lots of time and money.

Medium (100g yarn) – £24 per month, including UK postage

This subscription will contain at least 50g undyed and 50g dyed yarn as well as the information sheets. With this much yarn you can make a small project, or combine with other yarns to make something bigger.

Large (200g yarn) – £38 per month, including UK postage

This subscription will contain at least 100g undyed and 100g dyed yarn as well as the information sheets. This is plenty of yarn for small accessory projects, or you can combine with other yarns to make something bigger.

Subscription numbers for each box will be limited due to the fact that the yarn is sourced from small farms who may not be able to produce large quantities.

I’m happy to post world-wide although there will be an extra cost for those outside the UK.
