Moonfire is a type of Dahlia, and I think it’s rather stunning. I found this example in a small formally planted area by the kitchen garden along with lots of other stunning flowers. Everything was so pretty it was difficult to choose which to use for inspiration!
As you can see in the photos below there are two similar colourways for this day, one brighter than the other. I had an issue with the paler one where I wasn’t happy with the result in all of the skeins. I dyed it again but by this point I was a little frazzled and didn’t adjust the recipe for the lower quantity of yarn. I was also running low on the base and it was at that point out of stock with my supplier. So I went with the brighter yarn for some people, because I love how it came out and think it still matches the flower fairly well.
