Studio Open Day 22nd November – Details

On Satuday 22nd November 10am-4pm I’m opening up my studio for you to visit. Please read this whole post for all the details.

Please don’t visit outside of this date! The studio isn’t usually set up to be able to receive visitors. It is based at a working garden centre and nursery and I have special permission to hold this event. In some cases I can arrange a visit but this has to be confirmed with me first. Please contact me with any questions.

While it’s not entirely neccessary, I’d appreciate it if you could let me know you’re coming so I can make sure I have enough gifts and cake available. Drop me a message through my contact form.

Location

My studio is located at Woodlands Nursery, Plants Direct, BH16 6AG. It’s just off the A350 Poole Road near Lytchett Matravers.

Turn into Old Market Road from Poole Road and immediately turn left. The parking area is in front of you. Please park sensibly as while it is quite a large area, there will also be customers visiting the garden centre. Please do not drive beyond the gate, as shown in the map below. Please don’t block gate either as it’s used for deliveries to the garden centre.

The official route to the studio is through the garden centre entrance. Follow it around to the left, down the path towards the toilets and follow the building around. You can choose to follow the small purple arrows on the map (walking only!) but please be careful of the grate and the uneven ground.

Facilities

At the garden centre, which I encourage you to take a look around while you’re there, there is a cafe serving hot drinks, cakes and light lunches. There are toilets available.

Accessibility

The car park is gravel and on a slope. The official route to the garden centre does not contain steps, however the entrance to the studio does have a single step. There is a disabled toilet.

What to expect

I won’t be doing any dyeing while people are visiting. I decided the risks of accidents with having pots of boiling water around were a bit too high, and my dyeing area is very small.

I’ll have all my yarn on display for you to look at, squish and buy. I’ll have things that don’t normally come to shows with me, and some things that haven’t made it to the website. I’ll have a seconds sale, a bargain basket and nearly everything* will be 10% off. Everyone** will get a little gift as a thank you for attending. There will be no pressure to buy anything so if you want to come along to have a look and a chat, you’re very welcome.

I will be joined by my good friend Rebecca from Moonfly’s Emporium. We’ve recently collaborated and she’s made some beautiful crochet earrings with my yarn, using 925 sterling silver hooks. She’s bringing along some of her crocheted plushies too, and will likely be working on our next collaboration while there.

You can also expect home baked cake, because what’s a celebration without cake? (I’ll be buying a gluten free option, but let me know if you have any other requirements and I’ll do my best to get something for you too).

The small print

*Advent calendars and Moonfly’s Emporium products aren’t included in the 10% off

**If many more people turn up than have contacted me, I may run out of gifts
