12 Day Yarn Box 2024
Open your 12 Day Yarn Box on the 12 days of Christmas, use it as a mini Advent Calendar or countdown to any other event.
Orders will be posted between 14th October and 16th November
The calendar contains 12 x 20g hand-dyed mini-skeins of your choice of base and weight yarn. This year’s theme is “Kingston Lacy Gardens”. Kingston Lacy is my closest National Trust property, and the huge estate and gardens are lovely to wander around. There are many different areas of garden, including the Kitchen Garden, Japanese Garden and Fernery.
The yarn colours are inspired by the plants, flowers and architecture found at Kingston Lacy. They will be a mixture of semi-solid and variegated colours.
Inspiration photos and full descriptions as well as yarn reveals will be posted daily from 1st-24th December on social media and the Bluebell Yarns blog.
Yarn Bases
The following yarn bases are available to choose from:
- British 100% Bluefaced Leicester – 4ply (approx. 350m per 100g) or DK (approx. 225m per 100g) – This naturally cream yarn is soft and plump and is suitable for a wide range of garments and accessories (but not suitable for socks).
- British 40% Bluefaced Leicester, 40% Shetland, 20% Alpaca – 4ply (approx. 350m per 100g) or DK (approx. 230m per 100g) – This naturally pale brown yarn is soft and plump with a little drape from the alpaca. It’s suitable for a wide range of garments and accessories (but not suitable for socks).
None of the bases have been superwash treated so will need gentle hand washing unless a felted result is intended. You can read more about this on the yarn care page.
Add-Ons
You can choose to add on a 100g skein of undyed yarn for £10, or a dyed skein for £15. The dyed skein will be a semi-solid colour chosen to work well with the other colours in the calendar.
Packaging
Each mini-skein will be individually wrapped and numbered, and will be accompanied by a brief description of what inspired it. A low packaging option, where mini-skeins are not wrapped, is available with a small discount. This is ideal if you would like to fill your own Advent Calendar.
All packaging is fully recyclable. The box the mini-skeins arrive in will be plain.
Shipping
The total price includes tracked UK shipping. International orders will be sent tracked and the cost of this will be calculated on checkout. Bluebell Yarns is not VAT registered so can’t offer a discount to international customers. Any fees or import duties to be paid are the responsibility of the customer.
I will begin posting on the 14th October, starting with international orders. All orders will be posted by the 16th November.
