What is the British Yarn Expedition?
The British Yarn Expedition is a monthly yarn subscription that explores the wonders of single breed British yarn. Each month will see both undyed and dyed single breed British yarn, usually from an individual farm, delivered to your door. This could be from a well known breed such as the Bluefaced Leicester or something more rare, such as Romney or Balwen. Subscribers will also receive information sheets about the breed and yarn, with suggestions on what the yarn is suited for, as well as information about the farm itself. Most of the yarn included in the expedition will be sheep’s wool, but very occasionally may include fibres such as alpaca and mohair from other British farms.
What you will receive
For each month you are subscribed for, you will receive:
- Minimum of 10g undyed yarn
- Minimum of 10g dyed yarn
- Information sheets about the animals and farm the yarn was produced on, the breed characteristics and suggestions on how the yarn could be used
If this is the first time you have subscribed to the British Yarn Expedition, you will also receive information about British yarn in general and a small gift.
The British Yarn Expedition is about exploring the characteristics of British Yarn. Some of it will not be suitable for items worn next to the skin, however suggestions and ideas on how to use the yarn will be provided.
This is not a rolling subscription, if you wish to pay each month you will need to resubscribe each month. If you’d like me to remind you to renew, please let me know and I’d be happy to send you a reminder.
