100g skein of Undyed Cheviot Chunky. This yarn contains 100% British wool and was spun in Yorkshire.
This Cheviot Chunky has approximately 100m per 100g. It is a plump and deceptively soft yarn. While not soft in the same way as Bluefaced Leicester I don’t find the yarn itchy at all. It is springy and luxurious and would be great for all manner of items. A single skein is enough to make a hat, but it would be equally suited to a warm, thick winter jumper.
As this skein is undyed it has not been washed therefore contains some of the natural lanolin from the wool. When washed this yarn will plump up and feel smoother.
The yarn has not been superwash treated so requires gentle hand washing unless you intend to create felt. You can read more about how to care for your wool on the yarn care page.
