Efflorescent is a hand-dyed 100g skein of 4ply/fingering weight yarn. It is a variegated yarn dyed yellow, pink and purple.
The base yarn is a blend of non-superwash British Bluefaced Leicester and British Masham. It was prepared and spun in Yorkshire and dyed in Dorset. The yarn is naturally pale cream meaning colours dyed on it are fairly vibrant. The two fibres used to create this blend combine to make a yarn with some wonderful characteristics. The Bluefaced Leicester provides lustre and bulk while the Masham adds a robust character. The yarn has a halo but retains good stitch definition.
I would recommend this yarn for all sorts of projects including garments and accessories. It is wonderfully warm but light weight, and has good stitch definition with a halo. While not super soft like merino or pure Bluefaced Leicester, anyone who is used to working with yarns such as Shetland or Wensleydale should have no problem with it.
Each 4ply/fingering weight 100g skein is approximately 450m in length.
The yarn has not been superwash treated so requires gentle hand washing unless you intend for it to felt. Due to the dyeing process no two skeins are identical.
Please note that while all efforts have been made to provide an accurate colour representation, colours may vary on different monitors and devices so the shade may not be identical to what you see on your screen.
