“The Impossible” is a hand-dyed 100g skein of 4ply/fingering Falkland Corriedale high-twist yarn. This is a variegated yarn dyed in shades of blue, navy, turquoise and occasional patches of green. Due to the dyeing process no two skeins are identical. I called this yarn “The Impossible” because of how difficult it was to photograph correctly! I got there in the end though.

Photos 1 & 2 show the yarn before being re-skeined, photo 3 shows what it looks like after re-skeining.

This yarn is 100% Falkland Corriedale. It is spun in Yorkshire and dyed in Dorset. Each 100g skein is approximately 400m in length.

Although this yarn does not contain Nylon, it is suitable for socks because it is made from Corriedale which is a sturdy yet soft wool. It has been spun with a high twist to add extra strength to it. This yarn will last well compared to other synthetic-free yarns, however, I have yet to find a synthetic-free, non-superwash yarn which can match the longevity of nylon blend equivalents. You can read more about this yarn base here. As well as working wonderfully for socks, this yarn is also suitable for all sorts of other projects.

The yarn has not been superwash treated so requires gentle hand washing unless you intend to create felt.

Please note that colours may vary on computer monitors, so the shade may not be identical to what you see on your screen.
